What you're actually booking
Le Morne Brabant is the basalt monolith at the south-west tip of the island — a UNESCO World Heritage site because escaped slaves took refuge on its summit. The climb is a genuine hike: about two hours up through forest and then a scramble over rock to the top.
The view from the summit takes in the entire lagoon, the reef, the underwater waterfall illusion and, on a clear day, most of the west coast.
You go with a certified mountain guide who knows the route and the history. Transport from your hotel is included.
